Sleep Walking and Talking... Richard Style!

Okay so this post is not going to be having any pictures or have anything to do with the kiddos! So if that is what you are wanting to hear about them don't continue! This has everything to do with Richard and his odd sleeping habits! Some of you may know that Richard talks and walks in his sleep! I mean we are talking about he is CRAZY in his sleep! I mean when we first got married I wondered what I had got myself into Crazy! I swear that for the first whole year that we were married he did something totally off the wall every night. I've gotten use to it over the years and have just learned to roll over and go back to sleep. He will figure himself out and go back to bed ...with his glasses on just in case! It can be humorous but can be annoying. I've decided to tell my top five funny/scary moments that have happened... Enjoy!

5.) Richard thought that there was a little Indian boy that was living in our bed. His name is Poncho and Richard turned on the lights rearranged everything in our bed looking for this kid before he finally came to and realized he was asleep! He even asked me to help find Poncho. This was in the first few weeks of us being married!

4.) Richard grabbed me and woke me up saying, "Meg, Meg did a deer just fall on you...Deer are jumping over the bed did one just fall on you!"

3.) Richard woke me up in the same fashion saying, "Meg are you okay did you just get hit with a spear! Someone is throwing spears at us are you OK!"

2.) Richard wakes up shaking the whole bed, Me not knowing any better asked him what he was doing he then continued to tell me that there was blood all over the walls and was freaking out!

1.) This happen just two nights ago and it is the only time that his crazy sleeping problem have seriously scared the crap out of me. He jumped up on his hands and knees said, "Oh no she didn't!" got right in my face like inches away and started just breathing in my face sort of like an angry bull would! Nostrils flaring and all! This went on for probably like 5 minutes! I've learned by now to just lay there and pretend to be asleep and ignore it because it ends quicker. It felt like a life time he was freaking me out. Finally he got out of my face but then he just proceeded to sit on the bed fuming with his arms folded occasionally giving me the stare. Finally after another 5 minutes of that he went back to sleep! What is his deal! I think that he has adult night terrors but he just thinks that he has vivid dreams.

It's funny because no one in his family knew that he did this until I told them. It's kind of a hard thing to miss. He has done it to some of his friends though when they went on vacation to Thailand so at least they know that I'm not the crazy one. Oh it has brought us some good laughs but I'm hoping not to see anymore cases of it for awhile!

That is so funny and scary at the same time. I would say that is some very vivid dreaming. Do either of boys act out their dreams?

I was laughing so hard about the dear falling on you. I will admit I didn't know he did it he never did it when he was on vacation with us growing up. I don't think you are crazy though. Actually it isn't too surprising because I have occasional bouts like it but not anywhere near his extreme. Maybe it is on set as an adult because I didn't get them till I moved to college. Is there anyway to even fix night terrors? #1 maybe he was thinking you did some crazy thing in a movie he just saw. Maybe you guys need to watch less movies. Maybe I should stop rambling...anyway thanks for sharing your top 5 the deer and spear ones definitely made me laugh!

oh wow. richard and van can be friends. i can totally relate to when you first got married, thinking "uhh wha?!?!" Van has calmed down quite a bit since then but WOW.

a lot of ours are similar to yours... lights being turned on, van looking for something, or grabbing me to protect me from something, etc. Now the in-your-face-angry-man? that hasn't happened. :/ glad you're okay! :)
