The saga that is the garage door....

So you know when you have those days that just suck and you wish you could go to sleep and have it been over. Well that's what life has been like at the davidson house for the majority of 2013. We have had the worse luck this year. If it's not one of our appliances breaking its a car problem or whatever else you can think of. So rewind back to September. We were getting ready to go on our vacation to disneyland we were glad because we needed a break. The night before we left I had a bad feeling something was going to happen while we were gone, then our oven exploded! So I thought oh hey that must be what was going to happen and tried to push the thoughts out of my mind. We went our merry way to disneyland. Spent 2 hours in LA traffic to only go one mile. We were all cranky and hungry. We pulled into our hotel and went straight to disneyland. Then it happened Richards phone started to ring he wasn't going to answer it, but decides he should since it was a logan number. He answered it and while literally walking through the gates of disneyland was told. "It's your neighbor my truck just went through your garage door!" So there was my bad feeling!!
To make along story short his truck popped out of gear and since their driveway is on a slant it flew down the driveway across the road and into our garage. Now I don't know what most people would do but considering our luck this last year we laughed and said ok we'll take care if it when we get back. They were able to get someone to come out and secure the garage for us so that the garage door wouldn't fall on someone or we wouldn't get robbed thank goodness! It's so great to know that we have the kind if neighbors that will go to great lengths to look out for one another. So with that we went on our vacation and had a great time.
Now when we got back that was another story! We pulled into our driveway around 930 one night when we went to go in the house we discovered we had been locked out. One of our neighbors thought they would put all the kids bikes in the house and lock the door so that no one would steal them. It was a very nice gesture but unfortunately we didn't have a key to our house on us. So we were locked out and had to climb all over the house looking for a window that would open so we could break in. So that was fun. The next day we talked to our poor neighbors that had the accident happen to work all the business out and get insurance information.
For the next week we dealt with insurance company people, garage door people and finally were approved for a new set of garage doors. We were very lucky because we got to get them both replaced. They didn't make the garage doors that we had anymore so both needed to be done. So fast forward right long weeks of waiting and here we are today!
With two new absolutely beautiful garage doors!
We got carriage doors minus the windows and they are totally gorgeous! I'm so glad I can finally pull my car in the garage! Putting kids into a cold car was starting to get to be no fun. I hated it but they hated it even more. Trey is so glad that he can play basketball agian. We are all just so happy to have this saga over with!
