Crazy Sewing Mama!!!

For the last 3ish weeks I have been slaving away making things for this baby girl! It's about time that I start don't you think since she will be here in 3 short months!
Today I just finished recovering the car seat! This wasn't a planned project but I had just enough material left over from doing her bedding to do this so I just did it! Plus the old cover said I'm a boy not I'm a girl! I looked all over for a tutorial on how to get this done and finally came across one that was made specifically for this kind of car seat! So I decided that it was meant to be so it had to be done! I was just going to make a cover for it but for this I ended up picking the whole thing apart and sewing it back together piece by piece! I'm so glad that I did. I like the ones that look like covers just fine but this looks like I bought it that way and I LOVE it! I took me about 3 days but it was totally worth it and not as hard as I thought it would be. The shade thing was actually harder than the seat part for me I don't know why! It was totally worth killing my fingers over and she is going to look like one stylin' baby riding in it! I can't wait to see her in it!!!

Here is my labor love that has taken me like 3 weeks to finish! I put so many hours of cutting and ironing and pinning and sewing, repeat, repeat, repeat...into this but it was worth it when I look at it! I am a total crazy person for doing this but again I LOVE it! I had a hard time trying to decide what other color to put with the pink before I finally decided on turquoise (the turquoise looks better in person then in a pic from my phone). I got a lot of weird looks when I would say that is what I was doing because I'm having a girl and that apparently doesn't qualify as a girl color, but I don't care it turned out better then I ever thought it would! I wish that my crib was set up so that I could look at it everyday, but it's not yet! We have to wait for this snow to stop so that we can paint her room and then do all that fun stuff! I wish that I could say that all my sewing projects were done but they are not. I still have one more big project that I have to do and then I can call it quits I hope! I am making long curtains to match her bedding and that includes all those ruffles that are on that crib skirt!!! Am I crazy? YES....but it will be worth it in the end. That is what Richard keeps telling me anyway! I'm so glad that he is so supportive of this crazy sewing habit that I have, because otherwise I probably would have quit half way through the bedding!!!
