So yes I'm a horrible mom...I have let Jack keep his Binky until he was 2 1/2!! But lets get it straight I'm not that mom that let him walk around with it in his mouth 24 hours days ok...he was only allowed to have it when he had a nap or was sleeping at night....so get your stink eyes back in your face!! I wasn't planning on letting him have it this long, in fact I have even made the attempt before to get rid of it but somehow it came back! But if we are being honest I let him have it because it was easier on myself! He would lay down go to sleep with pretty much no problems. But I knew that I needed to get rid of it before the baby is born. So on Saturday morning he woke up and I went to take it away from him as usual and it had a huge hole in it, because he likes to chew on it! So I decided that it had to go that day! I had seen this idea about sending it to the Binky Fairy once so I thought let's try that!
So I told him that since it was broken we needed to send it to her...he was all for it! I couldn't believe it!
So we got an envelope put her address on it, she lives in Far Far Away...It's right next to Neverland as in Never coming back!!! Jack put his Binky in it and sealed it up himself!
Jack took it right our to the mail box and put it in with no hesitation!
He was so proud of himself! He has done great...he has hardly even talked about it and he has been sleeping fine! It's taken him a little longer to fall asleep but other then that he's been doing fantastic! My main concern was to not traumatize the poor kid I wanted it to be something that he wanted to do. The Binky was a big thing of comfort for him and I didn't just want to up and take it away and have it be and big to do in his life. I think this was the best way. He talks about it every once in a while but he always ends up telling me that he sent it to the Binky Fairy and he's always excited about it! Best Idea Ever!!!

Good idea! I have the same problem with Ethan. I only let him have it at nap time and bed. He's not quite 2 1/2 yet but I think it'll be then that I actually get the courage to take it away. Maybe we'll try the binky fairy too :)
I love the fact that you sent it to far-far away land! Cute pictures of your darling family. Love you all and can't wait to see you the 2nd of April.
